Plant Manager

TreowGroup Recruitment, on behalf of our Niagara-based Based Manufacturing Client, is seeking a Plant Manager.

As the Plant Manager, you will oversee all operational details of the manufacturing plant.  The ideal candidate is fiscally responsible, prioritizes Health and Safety, and manages department heads with a servant leadership approach.  In this role, you will oversee plant maintenance, optimize system improvements, and assist with future growth.

Key responsibilities:
  • Oversee day-to-day operations to ensure the facility operates efficiently, meeting production goals while maintaining a strong focus on safety and adherence to protocols.
  • Lead with a hands-on approach to support plant personnel, including Maintenance, Health & Safety, Quality Control, Scheduling and Production teams.
  • Foster strong cross-functional collaboration, ensuring seamless alignment between manufacturing and other organizational functions and with external suppliers to optimize resources.
  • Develop comprehensive manufacturing processes and resource plans for personnel, materials, subcontracting, facilities, and equipment.
  • Vigilantly monitor and enforce adherence to predefined cost benchmarks, quality standards, and delivery commitments to uphold our reputation for excellence.
  • Act as a key problem solver, addressing operational, manufacturing, and maintenance issues swiftly to minimize disruptions and maximize profitability.
  • Allocate resources for safety improvements and maintain a safe facility.
  • Collaborate with HR to attract, retain, and develop top talent, ensuring that the workforce is equipped with the skills and knowledge required for success.
  • Ensure the facility operates in full compliance with all environmental, health, and safety regulations.
  • Develop and manage budgets, closely monitoring inventory and production scheduling to optimize resource allocation.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement, leading efforts to enhance existing processes and systems for greater efficiency and effectiveness.
Your progressive experience includes:
  • Manufacturing management experience in the heavy industry sector.
  • Engineering Degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of safety and regulatory policy related to ISO-9001, ISO-14001, and OHSAS 18001 environments.
  • Exceptional computer skills.
  • Proven leadership acumen with the ability to inspire and engage teams.
  • Proficiency in time management and multitasking.
  • A high degree of self-initiative and personal motivation.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Highly organized with a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, capable of swift situation assessment and data analysis.
