Outside Sales Representative

TreowGroup Recruitment, on behalf of our client in the Hamilton area, is seeking an experienced and driven Outside Sales Representative.

About Our Client: Our client is a well-established Canadian retailer specializing in the sale of power tools, hand tools, fasteners and safety gear with a focus on supporting the construction industry. 

Job Summary: The Outside Sales Representative will manage customer accounts, drive business growth, and foster strong client relationships. This role combines both counter sales and outside sales activities to foster business growth in the Hamilton and surrounding areas.

Your Day-to-Day Will Include:
  • Customer Interaction: Process customer orders and respond to inquiries by phone, email, and in-person.
  • Retail Counter Sales: Working as part of a retail sales team, you will assist customers at the sales counter by answering questions and assisting with floor purchases.
  • Business Development: Actively grow the companies customer base by reaching out to commercial and industrial accounts in the Hamilton area, with an emphasis on building long-term partnerships.
  • Order and Inventory Support: Assist with quoting, ordering, sourcing products, and inventory control to ensure smooth operations and order accuracy.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with team members to implement sales strategies, attend staff training, and contribute to the overall success of the business.

Work Conditions and Physical Requirements:
  • Fast-paced environment requiring physical stamina, including occasional heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs), standing for extended periods, and comfortable use of ladders.
  • A client-supplied vehicle is available for sales, demonstrations, and deliveries.

You’ll Be a Great Fit if You Possess:
  • Knowledge of construction and industrial products, including fasteners, screws, bolts, anchors, abrasives, and safety supplies.
  • The ability to estimate prices, discuss project needs, and recommend solutions to clients.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Exceptional customer service, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
