TreowGroup Recruitment, on behalf of a non-profit long-term care organization, is hiring a Senior Accountant for a private, faith-based organization committed to delivering exceptional care to seniors.

The organization offers long-term care, supportive housing, and wellness suites designed to meet residents’ physical, social, spiritual, and emotional needs.
Job Overview:
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Finance, the Senior Accountant plays a key role in the organization's financial operations, supporting strategic decisions and ensuring compliance with financial standards and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll general ledger imports; ensure monthly reconciliation of all financial functions
Perform month-end adjusting entries and reconciliations
Generate accurate and timely monthly financial statements, including consolidated Ministry of Health reconciliations and envelope balancing
Lead month-end and year-end closings
Prepare audit working papers and schedules; participate in coordination and planning of the annual audit
Prepare and manage organizational cash flows and monitor cash positions
Assist in preparing annual budgets, collaborating with department leaders
Support policy development and participate in financial system implementations
Maintain and enhance internal financial controls
Indirectly supervise and mentor team members, leading by example
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
University degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related discipline
CPA designation required
Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in accounting
Ontario healthcare financial reporting and business performance analysis experience is an asset
Advanced Excel proficiency and strong experience with financial software, including reconciliation and data analysis
Familiarity with Great Plains, Point Click Care, and payroll systems is an asset
Experience with business automation tools and implementation is an asset
